Culture of Bali

Bali is one of those paradises full of wonderful beaches, but in my opinion, the differential is in the culture and friendliness of the people.

There's no other place like that in the world. Balinese is characterized by humility and simplicity, with religion playing a very strong role in their daily lives.

The Balinese are mostly Hindus, approximately 95% of the population, while on the other islands of Indonesia the majority are Muslim.

Hinduism arrived in Bali from India, when Javaroyalty fled an Islamic revolution many centuries ago. It is one of the four great religions in the world and coexists very well with Buddhism, Confucianism and Tauism.
All over the island, everywhere, you will find the offerings, on the sidewalks, at the door of the shops, in the houses, everywhere.

They say that the offerings of the high places are for the high spirits, and the ones left on the ground are for the evil spirits.
Hindus in Bali believe in an order of the cosmos, and instead of the cycle of death and reincarnation, typical of Indian Hinduism, Balinese believe in the spirits of the ancestors.

They believe that spirits can reincarnate in new family members or even others, such as a neighbor's baby, for example.
